Publication status

Four publication states

Status labels describe completed work, not intended future work.

  1. 1

    Editorial draft

Written or substantially revised, but not yet evidence-checked. Public drafts are excluded from search indexing.

  2. 2

    Evidence checked

Material claims have been checked against a dated source set. This is not the same as documented clinical review.

  3. 3

    Clinically reviewed

A suitably qualified reviewer has completed the defined review, with consent to display their role and review date.

  4. 4

    Translated and reviewed

A locked reference edition has undergone medical and native-language review before indexing.

Core rules

Evidence, review, translation, and corrections

Evidence

Trace claims to sources

Guidelines, systematic reviews, and primary studies are distinguished. Publication type and uncertainty are not flattened into recommendation language. Bibliographic verification does not by itself prove that a source supports a claim.

Clinical review

Names require evidence and consent

No reviewer, editor, affiliation, credential, or institutional endorsement is displayed without documentary support. Review-pending content remains visibly labelled and excluded from search indexing.

Translation

Use one locked reference edition

English is the reference edition. A translation becomes indexable only after medical review and native-language review against a recorded reference version.

Corrections

Preserve a change trail

Material corrections should record the affected page, prior wording, revised wording, supporting source, date, and reason. Quietly changing a consequential medical statement is not sufficient.
